Star Milling is an animal feed manufacturing mill in Perris, CA. We are currently hiring for the following positions:

  • (1) WAREHOUSE MATERIAL HANDLER (5+yrs. of Sit-down Forklift Experience Required) – 2nd Shift ONLY – 1:30pm to 10:30pm – Perris, CA.
  • (2) INDUSTRIAL MANUFACTURING MACHINE OPERATOR (Barley Rollers Operator & Extruder Operator) – 2nd Shift ONLY – 2:00pm to 10:30pm – Perris, CA.

  

Job Title:   2nd Shift – Warehouse Material Handler for Sit-down Forklift

Annual Salary: $45,760.00 – $74,880.00 per year
Job type:     Full-time/Hourly position w/ available Overtime. [2nd shift ONLY – Monday – Friday, from 1:30pm to 10pm, or later for O.T.]

Job Description:  2nd Shift ONLY -Material Handler to pick, pack & ship using a sit-down forklift to pull full pallets of product in Warehouse to staging area to load trailers for truck deliveries next morning.

–5+yrs. Sit-down Forklift Experience required; can get OSHA certified on-site. Will not be on sit-down forklift the entire shift. Some lifting required to hand stack some pallets & clean warehouse.

-Experience in a manufacturing warehouse setting that includes lifting 50 lbs.  Small orders need to be picked & hand stacked neatly on a pallet with customers requested products; Attention to Detail is key.

Job Purpose: Load Commercial trucks’ trailers with pallets of feed bags for deliveries next morning after all pallets have been shrink wrapped & put in the staging area, ready to load.

Duties: Follow all company policies, procedures and safety protocols efficiently while keeping up with housekeeping to keep the warehouse clean & organized.

 

Job Title:     BARLEY ROLLERS OPERATOR (ENTRY LEVEL & HIGHER)
Annual Salary:  $41,600.00 – $62,400.00 per year

Job Title:     EXTRUDER OPERATOR (EXPERT LEVEL/EXTRUSION EXPERIENCE PREFERRED)
Annual Salary:  $52,000.00 – $99,840.00 per year 

Job type: Full-time Hourly Non-exempt position with overtime available. *Only 2nd shift (2p-10:30p) available.

Job Purpose:  To produce all different types of animal feed of bulk and sack products for customers by mixing and forming feed using manufacturing equipment.

Duties: Sit-down Forklift Operator experience required & must be able to lift & stack 50 lb. feed bags.

  • Must be able to lift 50 to 60 lb. ingredients and animal feed bags when adding ingredients into mixer and when stacking finished bags on wooden pallets.
  • Operate a forklift in the warehouse: Must be trained and observed before driving forklift. Must have forklift safety knowledge and follow all company policies and procedures. Must do a forklift inspection at the beginning of each shift daily and note any issues on the forklift inspection sheet.
  • Complete All Orders: Mixing feed and making sure the correct product is being produced before neatly stacked on a pallet.
  • Complete Batch Cards: Must make sure to write down everything you are making in detail to track ingredients and time it takes to complete order.
  • Housekeeping: Keep your area clean. Make sure all spills are swept up and removed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Sit-down Forklift Experience of 5 to 8 years required; can get OSHA certified on-site.
  • Reliable transportation to and from our feed mill.

 Skills:

  • Excellent math skills & attention to detail needed to be sure correct type & amount of ingredients are put into mixer to make feed.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities when working with any issues that arise with machine or ingredients.
  • Being able to work quickly to keep up with bagging feed and sealing with industrial sewing machine.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
