Hay Pellets are a good feeding option for older horses, with bad teeth who have trouble chewing, or horses who are sensitive to breathing in dust from long-stem hay. It is recommended that hay pelletsshould not exceed more than 50% of the horse’s total forage portion of the diet. The minimum forage intake for most adult horses is 1.5-2.0% of their total body weight per day. Make all feeding changes gradually.
Provide clean, fresh drinking water at all times. Store in a cool, dry, ventilated location away from rodents and insects. Do not feed if moldy, spoiled, insect/rodent infested, or if feed has un uncharacteristic odor or appearance, as it may cause illness or death. WARNING! – Do not feed to sheep. This feed contains added copper at levels that may be toxic if consumed by sheep.
